a) Short dimension of tube cross-section is vertical, parallel to load (minor axis bending).
b) Allowable, net concentrated load, per tube, may be located anywhere in the span. Weight of tube has been accounted for.
c) Allowable uniform load is the net loading on the tube. Weight of tube has been accounted for.
d) allowable loads are based on 46 ksi minimum yield steel (ASTM A 500, Gr. B) and the AISC specification.
e) All net (applied) loads are governed by deflection limit of Span / 240; (e.g., 0.250" for 5' span)
f) Tube-wall thicknesses are nominal. Minimum is 0.93 times nominal, per 2005 AISC specification.
g) Allowable loads ("max" loads) arebased on a safety factor of 2.0.

NOTE: Modification or additional loading of any structure must be reviewed by a structural engineer. Each Chicago Clamp Systems® (CCS) application must be selected under direction and installed under supervision of a structural engineer. CCS does not increase load capacity of any structure. Chicago Clamp Company (CCC) takes no responsibility for the load capacity of any building. Only use components provided by CCC.
